River City Melee Mach!! was recently updated to version 1.0.3.

Here are the update notes:
In accordance to the North America ESRB, parental control settings have been added.

Bug Fixes
– Fixed several techniques that gave players too many points.
“- Fixed a bug that granted points to ring-outed players.
Ring-outed players will now see their score decrease.”
– Fixed a bug that increased point gains after setting a handicap.
– Fixed the volume of several audio tracks.
– Fixed graphics.

Updates and improvements
– Current version is now displayed on the title screen (ver. 1.0.3)
– Updated the rank points
– Improved the balance of status conditions
– Changed the target selection priorities of the AI controlled players, for each character, according to the difficulty.
– Updated the use of status boosting items.
– Changed several techniques, updating their start-up, movement and execution.
– Several techniques can now be used while holding an item.
– Several techniques now have follow-up moves that can be triggered by entering additional commands.

Due to differences in each of the platforms’ update process, the availability of the update for each platform will differ. We will update once the availability dates are known.

< Fixed Issue >
■Fixed an issue where the game will freeze when certain conditions are met during battle.

■The following issues regarding battle has been fixed.
〇System
・Fixed an issue where Cross Raid will be interrupted during mid-action.
・Changed Cross Raid to only hit on characters in the damage state.
・Fixed an issue where characters are unable to block during landing after activating Resonance Blaze in mid-air.
・Changed Susanoo’s and Yumi’s Clash Assault’s active frame to be the same as the rest of the cast.
・Fixed an issue with Training Mode’s Counterattack Settings for certain characters where the desired action was not being performed.

〇Noel
・Adjusted the knockback of “Zero Gun – Fenrir.”

〇Kanji
・Fixed an issue where the opponent is able to recover during a successful “Gotcha!” connects.
・Fixed an issue where players are unable to summon Takemikazuchi when certain conditions are met.

〇Akihiko
・Fixed an issue with charged “B ver. Corkscrew” where the amount of gauge gained after a successful “Parry” is not as intended.
・Changed the Fast Attack of “Counterattack Settings” in Training Mode from “Crouching A” to “←+A”.

〇Labrys
・Fixed an issue where the direction of the Skill performed after a normal throw is in the wrong direction when fighting against certain character.

〇Linne
・Fixed an issue with “←+A” where the proration of the move was not changed as stated in the previous patch note.

〇Yang
・Fixed an issue with “Smart Combo 2 (2nd hit)(B, B)” where the additional proration is applied twice during Semblance.

〇Elizabeth
・Fixed an issue where the recovery frame of “Crouching B” is in the standing state instead of the crouching state.
・Changed “Mind Charge” to not lose any life when it is performed right after an opponent’s character is defeated.
・Fixed an issue with “Megidolaon” where the opponent character is able to escape from the lock during certain situations.

〇Hilda
・Fixed an issue with “Pillar of Revenance” where the opponent character is able to escape from the lock during certain situations.

〇Yumi
・Fixed an issue where the effect of projectile moves such as “Whirling Fans” and “Grand Stage: Snowbird” not being displayed correctly.
〇Neo
・Changed the behavior of “Overactive Devastation” and “Distortion Skill Duo” so that it is easier to hit the partner character in certain situations.

■Fixed an issue where the color of the avatar is not being displayed correctly in Room Match.

■Fixed an issue with the Gallery Mode where certain illustrations are being locked after updating the game.

■Fixed several minor spelling, motion, and effect issues.

<In regards to Replay data after the update>
After the update, replay data from previous version cannot be played we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Due to the system, there might be a delay in the delivery of this update. Therefore, a quick-fix will be made available to fix the more serious issues.

<To apply the quick-fix>
The quick fix data can be automatically downloaded during initialization of the Network Mode.
Select “Connect to Network Mode” from the Entrance Main Menu.
The text “Ver 2.00.02” will be shown on the upper left corner of the screen in the Online Lobby when the quick-fix data is applied.
The downloaded quick-fix data will be saved into the save data. Therefore, the quick-fix will also be applied offline once it has been downloaded.

By fulfilling the condition below, users will be able to download the quick-fix data without subscribing to the paid service “Nintendo Switch Online”.

Have at least 1 user account in the Nintendo Switch to be linked to a Nintendo Account.

Adding the latest tuned version of the game The patch will add the latest tuning from the arcade version: GUILTY GEAR XX ACCENT CORE PLUS R”. Users will be able to choose whether they want to play with the old version or the “+R” Version via the Options menu.

Improvement in usability Improved various aspects of the controls, and usability. For more details, please view the list below.

Fixing a variety of bugs Addressed a series of issues that have been discovered after the release of the title.

 

Additions in the +R Version
Upon applying the patch, the following functionality will be added.

Title Screen

Added the “+R” Version. The “+R” Title Screen will be applied. Also, the HUD on all battle screens will be changed to match the latest “+R” Version.

Battle Screen

The latest game balances will be added. When set to “+R” Mode, the latest character balances, as well as HUD visuals will be brought up-to-date.

Help & Options

The ability to switch between versions. A new option will be added to the “Game Settings”, which allows players to choose between “AC” or “+R” Versions of the game.

Each Mode

Added the “+R” Version. When “+R” is chosen, every subsequent mode in the game will use the “+R” tuning, etc.

Ranked Match

“Kliff” and “Justice” join the fight When the game version is set to “+R”, the normal versions of characters, “Kliff” and “Justice” will become available.

Player Match

Using “Kliff” and “Justice” When the game version is set to “+R”, “Kliff” and “Justice” will become usable in all sessions (rooms).

Ranking

Added the “+R” Version Scoreboard A new ranking board for “+R” matches will be added.** Boards for the existing version will continue to persist.
Improvements to Usability
Upon applying the patch, the following improvements will be applied automatically.

Chara Select Screen

Intelligent Cursor When transitioning to the character select screen, the cursor will automatically move to the character that was selected last. Furthermore, the cursor will automatically flip to the proper color palette selected previously.

Network

Improved Search Functionality The “Area Designation” and “Connection Speed” filtering functions for network matches have been improved drastically.
Ranked Matches Improved Match-Making Improved the time it takes to find a suitable match for players, as well as, accuracy of matching players with near-skilled opponents. Also, the game will attempt to retry finding opponents during a custom search. ** This can be cancelled if no opponent is found.
Added a UI on the Prep Screen Once a match is found, there is now an icon displaying the connection quality between the paired opponents.
Added sound and controller vibration to the Prep Screen There will be a sound effect, voice notification, and controller vibration whenever a suitable match is found, allowing the player to do other tasks while awaiting a match.
Session Connectivity Improvements When the opponent disconnects from the match, the room will still be maintained.
Player Match Improved Room Searching Functionality The game will attempt to retry finding opponents during a custom search. ** This can be cancelled if no opponent is found.
Added sound and controller vibration to the Lobby There will be a sound effect, voice notification, and controller vibration whenever a new player joins the lobby.
Room Connectivity Improvements The room will no longer disband when an opponent disconnects.

 

Other Changes
Upon applying the patch, the following will be applied automatically.
Others Added the ability to take screenshots Players will now be able to take and save screen shots of the game, using the Screenshot Utility. In order to take a screenshot, players must press the PS Button and proceed to the “photo” row in the XMB menu, and select “Save Screenshot”. Follow the prompts, and proceed to save the screenshot.Players can take screenshots in all modes except network modes. Also, in order to fully take advantage of the screenshot functionality, the game will automatically pause when the XMB menu is active. (** This rule does not apply in network or movie playback modes.)
Other misc. bugs Addressed a number of issues that have been discovered post-release of the title.

 

■ How to capture Screenshots(1) Press the PS HOME Button the moment you wish to make a screen capture. The game will automatically pause.(2) Select the option to “Save Screenshot” in the “Photo” column of the XMB™ Menu.Follow the remaining prompts to successfully save your image.

※ Screenshots cannot be taken during Network Play

※ The screenshots will be viewable from the PlayStation®3’s XMB™ Menu.
